🎻 Summer Strings Camp at Oak Park String Academy June 2026 🎻
Get a head start (or keep the momentum going) before next school year begins! Oak Park String Academy’s Summer Strings Camp is a fun, skill-building, small-group experience for students who want to feel confident in their school orchestra programs.
Each camp is intentionally small — about 8 students — so every child receives meaningful individual attention from OPSA professional faculty and inspiring high-level high school performers who serve as mentors, section leaders, and role models.
Camp 1: Jump-Start Strings
June 8–12 | For Rising 4th Graders
Perfect for students who will be starting orchestra as 4th graders and want to get a jump on the fundamentals before school begins.
Students will:

Strengthen music reading

Build solid rhythm and ensemble skills

Develop healthy technique and posture
-
Learn foundational habits that make starting orchestra feel exciting (not stressful!)

Have a great time making music with new friends
Camp 2: Next-Level Strings
June 15–19 | For Rising 5th–6th Graders
Designed for students who have already begun their string journey and want to continue developing their skills at a slightly faster pace.
Students will:

Strengthen music reading and ensemble confidence

Improve technique, rhythm, and musical independence

Work on shifting skills
-
Begin or strengthen vibrato
-
Enjoy collaborative music-making in a positive, motivating environment
